Once finished, Roco Ki will be one of the largest luxury destinations in the Caribbean, spanning the length of its perfect beach and protected open space. In addition to a Westin property to open in 2008, Roco Ki is in negotiations with a number of five-star hotels anxious to participate in both lodging and residential opportunities. When complete, the community will have 8 to 10 luxury hotels, branded condominiums and villas, a marina, a state-of-the-art sports training complex and several golf courses—including the 18-hole Nick Faldo Signature Championship Course.

The master plan calls for low-density design that allows large conservation areas and lagoons, ensuring that visitors can enjoy the preserved landscape while living in comfort. An integrated environment and preservation of the natural habitat at Roco Ki will make life here far richer than any resort yet conceived.

Amenities

Marina & Aquatic Sports Center

At the northern end of the resort, the Marina and Aquaticc Sports Center will provide weatheer-protected docking for boats up to 160 feet in lenght. The Marina will provide boat and yacht owners with concierge services to oversee daily and scheduled maintenance. There will be a retail store, gas and diesel fuel dock, sanitary pump-out, bait, boat rentals, a service department and a convenience restaurant. Each slip will include electricity power, cable television, freshwater and every utility needed to provision a boat.

Across from one of the most popular whale watchings sites in the Caribbean, the Aquatic Sports Center will be the gateway to snorkeling, scuba diving, deep-sea fishing, sailing, motorized water sports and boat excursions. Just offshore from Roco Ki is the Mona Passage, among the most famed sport-fishing locations in the world. Along this 24-mile bank, white marlin average 30 to 50 pounds, blue marlin average 350 to 450 pounds, and sailfish, dorado and yellowfin tuna are regular catches. At the Marina, a crew can tend to the boat, clean a catch and deliver it to the restaurant to be prepared and served.

Spa & Fitness Center

The Westin Roco Ki Golf & Beach Resort will be home to the first of several planned spas at Roco Ki. A relaxing, rejuvenating sanctuary defined by lush gardens and striking architecture, the spa is anticipated to exceed 11,500 square feet, and will be home to 15 treatment rooms, a spa boutique, a salon, several yoga areas, and a fully equipped, state-of- the-art fitness center.

The fitness center will be home to a cardio salon, free weights, steam, sauna, spa tubs, and indoor and outdoor relaxation/meditation areas. An expansive menu of personally de- signed, full-service health and beauty treatments—provided by a fully trained staff in private treatment rooms—will feature conditioning body scrubs and hydrotherapy, aroma-stone massage, aromatherapy and mud wraps. This is truly a nurturing center for mind, body and spirit.

Sustainability

As stewards of this remarkable place, our cultural, environmental and social missions are dedicated to sustainable development. Roco Ki’s master plan is particularly sensitive to the environment, with a low-density design that allows for an expansive series of interior waterways, preserved mangroves and wildlife sanctuaries in addition to the open areas of the golf courses. Our commitment to eco-friendly design spans every aspect of our master plan, and is the inspiration for our name. Roco Ki, in the language of the indigenous Taínos, means “honoring the land.”

Ours is a socially responsible charter that extends, protects and preserves not only the land, sea and wildlife, but also the cultures that have come before us. To that end we have funded the first private archeological recovery mission of the museo Del Hombre, the national museum of the Dominican Republic. And to preserve this past at Roco Ki, we will sponsor our own museum and discovery center on site.
